New reality show gives the gift of a book deal and $16,000 in prizes

Shadow Play Entertainment, Innovations, Inc., Hollygrove Publishing and their partners in encouraging literacy throughout the United States are gearing up for a historic literary journey of a lifetime: to find the next big thing in publishing. This new project will not only encourage creativity but provide assistance to those who are looking to make it in the world of publishing. Introducing “The Write Stuff” (http://www.thewritestufftv.com), a new reality show designed to assist individuals in their quest to better understand how to get their work recognized as well as network with those who have made it in the industry.

Eric B. Paid in Full Twice: Features Brooklyn Rapper Avion in Debut Album

The multi-platinum producer and entrepreneur, Eric B. is breaking record deals for traditional as well as non-traditional music distribution. Music and Internet companies have proposals on the table to for Eric B. Feat. Avion album. The streets are talking about the new Eric B. project dropping sometime late spring 2009. Eric B. discovered the rapper, Avion, who delivers a unique sound and lyrics.

Born and educated in Brooklyn, NY, Avion has lived in Miami for ten years and both have an influence on his savvy style. Minn. board expected to announce Al Franken winner

MINNEAPOLIS – The state Canvassing Board was poised to certify the results of the recount in Minnesota’s grueling Senate election in Al Franken’s favor — but that doesn’t mean the race is definitely over.

The board was to meet Monday and was expected to declare which candidate received the most overall votes from nearly 3 million ballots cast. The latest numbers showed Franken, a Democrat, with a 225-vote lead over Republican Sen. Norm Coleman, who led Franken on election night.

But after the announcement, there will be a seven-day waiting period before an election certificate is completed. If any lawsuits are filed during that waiting period, certification is conditional until the issue is settled in court.

Lawyers for both campaigns have laid the groundwork for lawsuits through public comments and legal maneuvering. In recent weeks, as Franken clung to a small lead, Coleman’s lawyers promised a lawsuit over their claim that some ballots duplicated on election night wound up being counted twice in the recount.


Of course, the repugs are going to fight til the death over this, but it looks like they will just continue to be obstructionists and Franken really has won!

Όλα άρχισαν τον Δεκέμβριο ( όλα;).

Η εν ψυχρώ δολοφονία του Αλέξη, πορείες, διαδηλώσεις, βία από όλες τις πλευρές.

Ξαφνικά στο υπάρχον σκηνικό άρχισαν σιγά σιγά να προστίθονται “αδέσποτοι” πυροβολισμοί. Σε μαθητή στο Περιστέρι, σε τρένα, σε κλούβα των ΜΑΤ.

Σήμερα για άλλη μια φορά ο στόχος ήταν ξεκάθαρα έμψυχος. Αυτή τη φορά άγνωστοι πυροβόλησαν άναδρα εν ψυχρώ τον Διαμαντή, έναν νέο που επέλεξε να γίνει αστυνομικός για να βγάζει το ψωμί του.

Σαν να υπάρχουν κάποιοι που να θέλει να είναι η ελληνική κοινωνία ένα καζάνι που βράζει.

Κάτι τέτοιο δεν το συντηρούν μόνο οι πυροβολισμοί. Το συντηρεί η “πολεμική” ατμόσφαιρα που διατηρήται από πολλές πλευρές ανεξαιρέτως.

Θολωμένα μυαλά ανέκαθεν κυκλοφορούσαν ανάμεσα μας. Όταν όμως συσσωρεύονται γεγονότα και καταστάσεις, αυτά γίνονται ιδιαιτέρως επικίνδυνα..και ψάχνουν αιτίες η ιδεές ως άλλοθι για να “ντύσουν” τις ακραίες πράξεις τους.

Όλα τα παραπάνω δεν γράφονται για να φτάσουμε σε κάποια “τετριμμένα ηθικοδιδακτικά συμπεράσματα” αλλά σε αυτά εδώ παρακάτω:

Ημέρες χάους ταιριάζουν μόνο σε λατινοαμερικάνικες κοινωνίες η σε “μυστήριες” ημέρες του ‘65 αν θέλετε. Και για να μην κινδυνολογούμε πολύ ελάχιστοι είναι εκείνοι που θέλουν τα παραπάνω στην ελληνική κοινωνία ( από όλες τις πλευρές).

Δεν χρειάζεται η δημοκρατία μας για κανένα λόγο να γίνει εκκρεμές με μεγάλη ανεξέλεγκτη τροχιά, είτε προς τα άκρα δεξιά είτε προς τα άκρα αριστερά.

Ας το καταλάβουν όλοι αυτό και ας αντιμετωπίζουν το κάθε τι από εδώ και στο εξής με σύνεση και ψυχραιμία κα προπάντων με κινήσεις που να στοχεύουν στην ουσία των πραγμάτων και όχι σε “παυσίπονα”

Με απόφαση της νομαρχίας το 20% των βενζινάδικων επί της εθνικής οδού Αντιρρίου- Ιωαννίνων ( εντός των ορίων της Αιτωλοακαρνανίας) θα είναι ανοικτά έως τις 23:00μ.μ. Από κει και πέρα είναι στη κρίση του κάθε ιδιοκτήτη, αν θα το κρατήσει ανοικτό από τις 23:00 έως τις 6 το πρωί. Επίσης έως 50% των βενζινάδικων σε όλο το νομό ( όχι μόνο στην εθνική οδό) θα είναι ανοικτά από τις 06:00 έως τις 21:00 τις Κυριακές και τις αργίες.

Υ.Γ. Καλά αυτά τα νέα για όσους ταξιδεύουν νύχτα. Είναι γεγονός ότι όσοι ταξιδεύουν για κάποιο λόγο τις νυχτερινές και μεταμεσονύκτιες ώρες, από το Αντίρριο και μετά ( έως το Αγρίνιο τουλάχιστον) ήταν πολύ δύσκολο να βρούν βενζινάδικο ανοικτό ( άντε να ήταν ένα η δύο στο ρεύμα που ταξιδεύουν). Θετικό αυτό το μέτρο, ευελπιστούμε να ισχύσει και στην πράξη.

Reid: ‘I really do believe President Bush is the worst president we’ve ever had.’

In early 2006, Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-NV) said of President Bush: “I really do believe this man will go down as the worst president this country has ever had.” This morning on Meet the Press, host David Gregory asked Reid whether he regrets making that statement. Reid refused to back down. “I think you just have to call things the way you see them,” he said. “I really do believe President Bush is the worst president we’ve ever had.”

Update - White House Press Secretary Dana Perino issued a terse response to Reid’s statement. “The Senate Majority Leader isn’t really taken seriously,” she said.

I think anyone would be hard-pressed to find someone who disagreed with Reid’s statement of fact. Perino’s pathetic snark was pretty funny though.

Minister of Interior: Next Year We’ll be Tougher with Hooligans

Minister of the Interior Guusje ter Horst (Labor) says that next New Year’s Eve she will deal with hooligans much more severely than this year. She expressed her satisfaction that this New Year’s Eve was better than last year, but the number of incidents was still too high. The police say that New Year’s Eve was “quiet” – there were 800 arrests and almost 3,000 incidents.
